Everybody, ever be buddies
Days we grew up are days we will treasure
Profile25. Female. Massive procrastinator.
♥ Wishes to have unlimited supply of money to buy all the shoes, bags, nail polishes, Blu-ray movies and figurines in the world.
Most hours of the day are spent rotting away in front of the computer.
Will blog mostly about figurines, my ever-expanding wishlist, random book hauls, random Blu-ray purchases and random nail polish hauls. Plus, the occasional moaning/complaining about my boring life.

All grown up... on the outside
Still totally a kid on the inside :P
Have I mentioned I have a job now? An actual paying job. Which means I'm a working adult now *sigh*
It's been 2 weeks since I started and already, I've attended a 2-day training course.
Officially, I'm supposed to be in charge of the latest piece of equipment the company bought - still learning how to use/run the machine from the other engineers. It's supposed to ease the burden of the operators when they're doing the final visual inspection of whatever product they've made. Coz you know, humans are more likely to make mistakes when they've been working for hours at a time. So, this machine will do the bulk of the work and for anything else, it'll be passed on to the operators to do. Can't mention anything specific coz I signed the non-disclosure agreement. (>_<;;)
So far, training been pretty slow going since the whole company's busy trying to fill a rather large and urgent order from their main customer. Can't do anything to help them since I'm not familiar with the processes yet. So I'm mostly on my own - stuck with wandering around, observing the operators and their individual work.
Oh yes, I also need to wear protective clothing since the products are quite sensitive. Gotta wear 'special' shoes that discharges electrostatic before I enter the production floor - that's where I'm assigned to by the way. Including a protective smock and face mask.
Everything on the production floor is protected by a special material to prevent unwanted electrostatic discharge, which would render the products completely useless - a big NO-NO since that would go to scrap.
Lastly, I'm on a 6-month long probation period since I'm new to the company - applies to all new staff except operators. Hopefully I last longer than 6 months so... fingers crossed.

So I got called back \(^_^)/ Will be heading over tomorrow to pick up my offer letter and a minor briefing about company benefits & whatnot. Officially starting work on Monday~ Yay. On one hand, I'm happy I finally found a job that pays (double the amount I made doing part-time work and it's enough for my personal needs *cough*figures*cough*). On the other hand, I'll be out of the house for almost half a day (and then some, in case of urgent or last minute work) i.e. less personal time. According to my interviewer, it's a rather intense working environment but the good thing about it is if you do leave the company, you'll definitely 'survive' any other work place. We'll see....
Onto other news, recently rediscovered plushie making with felt cloth. I had a brief interest in this craft before when I was researching needle felting but I wasn't confident in my hand sewing skills (-_-;;). After watching a few dozen how-to videos on YouTube however, I think I'm going to give it a try. I'll have to pick up some felt cloth from Daiso first though, and some stuffing. I've got everything else i.e. needle, thread, scissors, at home so those are off my list. Depending on how my first try goes, I might post a picture of the finished 'product'. Wee~~ can't wait! :D
Nendoroid Black Gold Saw: TV Animation ver. (release month: July 2014)
She's quite cute but no, she's not on my wishlist.
Makes me feel like copying that ombre effect on her hair though... No, I'll be a working 'professional' so no changing my hair color (>_>|||)

Speak of the devil...
And it shall appear. URGH.
I was just chatting about this scale figure with my usual seller/supplier 2 days ago and today its release date was announced and pre-orders are opened.
And yes, I placed a pre-order for it. I've been waiting since last year after all.
Max Factory's Benten - Zone-00 (release month: July 2014)
BTW, Benten is a man. XD A very pretty man but a man nonetheless. Please don't ask how he fits in those hot pants.

So, I've noticed something recently... Actually, it started some time midway through last year...
It seems like a lot of my old classmates and schoolmates were being engaged and/or got married.
Like today. Just found out that an old classmate from high school was proposed to by her long-term boyfriend. Another friend recorded a video of the event and it was really sweet how he asked her. Tears of joy all round~
And a few days ago, another old classmate from high school just had her wedding ceremony/party.
Plus, another old classmate from high school just married, like 2 weeks ago, after being proposed to a few months prior and is now on her honeymoon. In Europe, it seems as evidenced from her FB photo uploads.
Is there an epidemic of love that I'm unaware of?
Well anyway, congratulations to all the happy couples! (if you're reading this)
The Lunar New Year is next week so I'm looking forward to that. Food, 'ang pao' aka red packets, laughter, joy, have I mentioned FOOD?? Urgh, I can feel all those calories already...

Happy Birthday to me~
Celebrated my 25th birthday today with dinner at Manhattan Fish Market (lol there again).
Ordered Country Style Fried Chicken for myself, which came with a yummy piece of fried chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of coleslaw and gravy.
For dessert, I had Sizzling Brownie with Vanilla Ice-Cream. See below.
When the dessert comes to the table, the waiter/waitress pours the caramel over the ice-cream and it sizzles when it hits the hot pan. YUMMY~~~!!! d(=^__^=)b
Had one all by myself, lil sis ordered one which she shared with our dad coz he hadn't tried it before.
After dinner, we went over to Secret Recipe and dad bought half of my absolute fave: Creme Brulee Cheesecake. d(^____^)b
No whole cake for my birthday this year :P
Reminder to self: redeem the free regular sized drink from Chatime by the end of this month.

Another Saber Bride figure, this time by Alphamax.
Alphamax's Saber (release month: June 2014)
Gonna pass on this figure, since it's more fanservice-y than usual (=_=|||)
The details on her are rather nice if you ignore the *ahem* selling point.
Seriously though, Saber wouldn't dress like that (-_-;;) She's 'King Arthur', remember?

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Christmas Day is almost over by the time I finish this post.
So, a recap of Comic Fiesta 2013 that happened over the previous weekend...
Overall crowd was INSANE, to say the least. According to the CF committee, there were nearly 40,000 visitors this year. I can tell. Nearly died of oxygen deprivation and almost suffered an extreme case of claustropobia, that is how crazy it was.
On the other hand, a dismal loot this year. Mainly coz most of the booths were selling merchandise of the recently popular fandoms I'm not following or a fan of i.e. Free! and Shingeki no Kyoujin (Attack on Titan). I did, however, find someone selling Sherlock calendars :D Got a small sized one for myself and nabbed the last Loki print XD Kinda sad that there wasn't that much Loki and/or Sherlock stuffs, compared to last year that is. However, I was excited to find one booth owner who also has a Hot Toy Loki figure d(^____^)b
I was expecting a more diverse range of fandom merchandises though :(
There were only a small fraction of stuff from The Hobbit, Doctor Who, general Marvel-verse (i.e. Avengers, Thor, Iron Man) and even Supernatural made an appearance or two. Hopefully it's only because of the time constraint that's preventing the artists from churning out stuff from newly released movies/series/anime.
Case in point: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was only out 2 weeks ago, Thor: The Dark World was out last month, and Doctor Who & Sherlock both released Christmas specials.
Anyway, enough of CF '13!
Mum, lil sis & I had our Christmas Eve dinner at Auto City's Manhattan Fish Market. The desserts were to die for~~ Lil sis took all the pics for her own blog post and I was too busy drooling over the desserts to take any :P YUM~~!!! Will definitely visit MFM more often, if only for the desserts~~~
As for today, we spent almost the whole day on the island, walking round Gurney Plaza.
Had lunch at the food court then spent some time in Daiso getting kitchen utensils for lil sis.
Spent tea time by eating more desserts at Tong Pak Fu XD Ordered the Creme Brulee and it was heavenly~!! Mum called for the Chocolate Lava Cake and yuuuummm.... Another heavenly dessert~~ (=^___^=)
Walked off the extra calories in Popular XD I got 2 Kathy Reichs books which were on sale for RM10 each. Seriously. So happy I found these two particular novels~ They're her first and second novels respectively so I wasn't expecting to stumble upon them. FYI, Kathy Reichs is a world-class forensic anthropologist whose novels inspired the TV series 'Bones'. I like watching 'Bones' so when I found out about the author, naturally I began searching for her books to read ;)
Lastly had dinner at Gurney Drive (^_^)b Traffic was a killer to wade through when we were heading back home though oRZ Was dead tired when we got back home but I really needed to get this post out so VOILA! \(@_@)/
How was your Christmas?
